Did you know that Peppermint Essential Oil is more than just a candy flavor?

Yes you read right – the essential oil that flavors that red swirled candy cane we see and eat so often during the Christmas season holds powerful constituents that do so much more than tingle the taste-buds!

PeppermintPeppermint (Mentha piperita) is one of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for supporting normal digestion, including promoting healthy intestinal function and gastrointestinal system comfort. There have been a number of studies done on peppermint and as you research you will find amazing things that it can do including the supporting effects on the liver and respiratory system, positive effects on improving concentration and mental alertness, and support of the digestive system.

Practical ways on how to use Peppermint Essential Oil:

  • Diffuse or inhale mid-morning to curb the desire to snack.
  • Place 2 drops of peppermint essential oil on the tongue and rub another drop of oil under the nose to support concentration and alertness.
  • Add a drop of peppermint essential oil to herbal tea to support normal digestion.
  • Instead of grabbing an unhealthy snack mid afternoon, re-energize by applying to the palms of hands and deeply inhaling.

Peppermint Essential Oil is one of our favorite oils to use and one that we use consistently and often in our home. You would be amazed how just simple diffusing or inhalation of this oil perks you up. Yes, more than just a candy flavoring, indeed!
